Revitalising Malaysia

It was in 1852 that the first of La Salle schools was established in Malaysia. It was in Penang that St. Xavier’s was established, marking the start of the contribution that the De La Salle Brothers would make to Malaysian education. To date, 32 Lasallian schools have been established in Malaysia, the corridors of which have witnessed hundreds and thousands of students pass through them, many of whom have gone on to contribute significantly to the nation.

In recent years, however, the awareness surrounding these contributions may be not be fully recognised which has led the Brothers of the Christian Schools to embark on a global mission to revitalise the vision that St John Baptist De La Salle set out 300 years ago. The goal in the future is to guide the La Salle educational work to respond to the needs and challenges of today’s world.
